Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 7 October 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to services provided by Rachel Lloyd – Birth & Postpartum Doula and HypnoBirthing® Educator through rachellloyd.com.au.

By booking a service, making a payment or using this website, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Services

Services may include:

  • HypnoBirthing® group courses

  • Private HypnoBirthing® courses

  • Birth and doula support

  • Combined HypnoBirthing® and birth-support packages

  • Postpartum support

  • Information sessions and other related education or support

The specific inclusions, dates, location and fees for your chosen service will be provided at the time of booking.

Birth-support clients may also be required to sign a separate Service Agreement, which contains additional terms relating specifically to birth attendance, on-call availability and doula support.

2. HypnoBirthing® Courses

HypnoBirthing® – The Mongan Method is a childbirth education program designed to provide education, relaxation techniques, practical preparation and tools for birth.

Participation in a HypnoBirthing® course does not guarantee any particular birth outcome.

HypnoBirthing® education is not medical advice and does not replace care from your midwife, obstetrician, GP or other qualified healthcare provider.

You should seek advice from your healthcare provider regarding any medical concerns relating to your pregnancy or birth.

3. Bookings

A booking is confirmed once any required booking deposit or payment has been received.

Where applicable, completion of an enrolment form, acceptance of these Terms & Conditions or signing of a Service Agreement may also be required before your booking is confirmed.

Places in group courses are limited and cannot be guaranteed until the required payment has been received.

4. Payments

Course and service fees will be clearly communicated before booking.

Where a payment plan has been agreed, payments must be made according to the agreed schedule.

Failure to make payment by the required date may result in your booking being cancelled or services being paused until payment is received.

Birth-support and combined packages may have a separate payment schedule outlined within the client's Service Agreement.

5. Booking Deposits

Where a booking deposit is required, the deposit reserves your place, teaching dates and/or service availability.

Booking deposits are non-refundable for change-of-mind or client-initiated cancellation, except where a refund is required under the Australian Consumer Law.

Any additional payments made will be considered according to services already provided, costs incurred and dates or availability already reserved.

6. Group Course Cancellations

If you are unable to attend a scheduled group HypnoBirthing® session, please contact me as soon as possible.

Because group courses run according to scheduled dates and times, missed sessions cannot always be rescheduled.

Where reasonably possible, I will discuss available options with you, which may include providing relevant course material or arranging another suitable option. Any alternative arrangements are subject to availability.

7. Private Course Rescheduling

If you need to reschedule a private HypnoBirthing® session, please provide as much notice as possible.

I will make reasonable efforts to arrange another suitable time; however, alternative dates are subject to availability.

Repeated or late rescheduling may affect our ability to complete the full course before your baby's birth.

8. Cancellation or Changes by Rachel

If I need to reschedule a class or appointment because of illness, emergency or circumstances outside my reasonable control, I will contact you as soon as possible and make reasonable efforts to arrange an alternative.

If I am unable to provide a service you have paid for, fees relating to services that have not been provided will be refunded or another arrangement agreed with you.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

9. Minimum Numbers for Group Courses

Group courses may require a minimum number of participants to proceed.

If a course cannot proceed because minimum numbers have not been reached, you will be offered an alternative where available, such as:

  • transferring to another group course;

  • discussing a private course option; or

  • receiving a refund for services that cannot be provided.

You will be contacted as early as reasonably possible if a scheduled course cannot proceed.

10. Early Birth or Changes During Pregnancy

Pregnancy and birth can be unpredictable.

If your baby arrives before your HypnoBirthing® course has been completed, or medical or personal circumstances significantly change your ability to participate, please contact me.

We can discuss the most appropriate way forward based on the sessions already completed, remaining services and your individual circumstances.

11. Birth and Doula Support

Birth-support services are governed by a separate signed Service Agreement.

The Service Agreement sets out matters including:

  • on-call availability

  • timing of in-person birth support

  • communication during labour

  • circumstances where birth attendance may not be possible

  • hospital or birth-place access

  • extended labour

  • fees and refunds

  • client and doula responsibilities

Where there is any inconsistency between these website Terms & Conditions and a signed Service Agreement in relation to birth support, the Service Agreement will apply to that service, subject always to applicable Australian law.

12. Scope of Practice

As a doula and childbirth educator, I provide emotional, physical, educational and informational support.

I do not:

  • diagnose medical conditions

  • provide medical advice

  • perform clinical procedures

  • prescribe treatment

  • make medical decisions on behalf of clients

  • replace your midwife, obstetrician, doctor or other healthcare provider

All medical care and decision-making remains between you and your healthcare providers.

13. Course Materials

Course resources, handouts, recordings and educational materials supplied as part of your course are provided for your personal use.

Materials must not be copied, reproduced, distributed, uploaded, sold or shared publicly without appropriate permission.

HypnoBirthing® materials may also be subject to the intellectual property rights of HypnoBirthing International.

14. Photos, Testimonials and Feedback

You may occasionally be invited to provide feedback or a testimonial.

Providing feedback is completely optional.

Your name, photograph, testimonial, birth story or other identifying information will not be used publicly for marketing purposes without your consent.

15. Privacy

Personal information provided through this website, booking forms, enquiries or service delivery will be handled in accordance with my Privacy Policy.

Information may be collected where reasonably required to communicate with you, manage your booking and provide the services you have requested.

16. Website Information

Information provided on this website is general educational information only.

While reasonable care is taken to keep information accurate and current, website content should not be relied upon as medical advice or as a substitute for advice from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

17. Changes to These Terms

These Terms & Conditions may occasionally be updated to reflect changes to services, business practices or legal requirements.

The version applicable to your booking will generally be the version available at the time you make your booking or otherwise accept the terms.
